Execution
In a world where technical execution is becoming easier than ever, value is shifting toward deeper, more complex problems. The businesses that will win are those that move quickly, iterate relentlessly, and keep the customer firmly in mind.
The barriers to entry in technology are now low—but the knowledge barrier to building genuine consumer insight remains high. Understanding how customers experience a problem, how they want it solved, how to reach them, how to sell to them, and how to keep them—this is something that can't be easily taught. It requires either a long timeline, a steep learning curve, or deep immersion in that space. It's not just the technical knowledge of an industry; it's the soft insights that come from living within it.
This is why I believe founders with domain-specific experience will have a moat when building tech—especially in AI-driven ventures. Their insight is something others can't easily replicate.
These founders will define the next wave of category winners: those building on genuine customer understanding, alongside those tackling deep tech that demands engineering, data, and systems expertise or hands-on hardware experience.
