Ideas Are Important

People love putting the ideas person down.

They say anyone can come up with an good idea.

It's all about the execution, they say.

Of course, execution is important.

But I believe this narrative was created by a person that is well aware that not everyone is capable of having a good idea.

There is a primal threat that society feels when in the presence of originality and creativity. So they put it down and say its not important.

Not everyone is an ideas person, nor can they be, they lack creativity. The vision person, the creative never gets due credit. But they should.

In a world where execution has become easier than ever, let's start recognising and giving credit where its due to the generator of ideas, dreamer of dreams and visionary creators, without whom, nothing starts.

Also lets talk about what makes an idea good.

An idea can be good for any reason but specifically in the context of entrepreneurship there are three elements that need to be present for an idea to be good. There are more but these are the bare bones of a good business or venture idea.

It needs to be simple, it needs to be scalable, it needs to be realisable.

Simple means I can explain it in one sentence. Scalable means lots of people can benefit from it. Realisable means I can create it or know someone that can.
