The Animal That Is UX/UI

Great UX/UI is like a an animal - or any living, organic thing.

It must flow, it must have a harmony, it must feel natural to the environment and work within its inherent system seamlessly.

When we describe a user journey we call it a flow, or series of flows.

It is no coincidence that this is also a word we use to describe the movement of water. Because water follows the path of least resistance. It doesn't strive to get where its going.

This is the same as great UI. It should be natural -it should flow from one place to the next. We often call great UI 'intuitive'.

Animals are intuitive. Nature is intuitive. In many things, nature and tech have parallels.

This is one of those things.
