The Next Social Era

Social networks began as bulletin boards for our lives — places to share what we did or wore. But what's coming next can't be just another feed or a way to post updates of our lives ... or spy on other peoples lives.

In that time, people still used to go to parties, still used to see each other live and soclal media was just an augmentation of that - to share what you did last night.

But now social networks need to recreate the real life experiences we seem to drift away from more and more.

Virtual and augmented reality are making it possible to interact not just through text or image, but through presence. A shared concert in VR. A design workshop across continents.

The next era of social connection might be one where our avatars have more fun than us.
