Your Business Is Your Mirror
How you do something shows how you do everything. I believe this is true, and I know for myself that the way I give everything to a cause is the same way I show up in relationships that are meaningful to me.
However, I also know it cuts the other way too. If you are undervaluing yourself and not setting boundaries in your personal life, guess what — your professional interactions will have the same quality.
This is the core of another idea that I believe in: your business is a reflection of yourself.
Your personal values, beliefs and deeply held expectations will be reflected through the very clear mirror of your business. It can't be any other way.
Your business literally is the man in the mirror — and the reason entrepreneurship is so brutal is because this mirror tells you things more clearly than any therapist ever could. It reflects back in hard data, real figures, and also real successes and victories.
This mirror does not deal in abstractions.
You cannot lie to this mirror and what the mirror will tell you, if you allow it to speak, is it's always your failing, your strength, in short you as the causative force - that has created what you see reflected back.
